Tirana is a city that painted itself. Communist era blocks covered in bright geometric colour on purpose, a pyramid of concrete in the middle that people climb, mosques and minarets beside orthodox domes, and mountains standing close behind. It is younger and rougher than its neighbours and more interesting for it. Bunkers built in their thousands still sit in fields and on corners. The pieces here take the colour and the shapes and come as prints, ornaments and the smaller things.
