Kyiv, Ukraine.

Kyiv is gold domes on green hills above a very wide river. Monasteries in white and blue with their roofs gilded so they catch light from across the water, chestnut trees along the boulevards, and steep cobbled lanes running down towards the Dnipro. Winter is long and the snow suits the gold. Caves under one monastery hold the remains of monks from a thousand years ago. The Kyiv work here takes those domes and that river and puts them on a wall, on a tree, or under a cup.
