The Taj Mahal is white marble on a red sandstone platform with a river behind it and gardens laid out in front. It is symmetrical to a degree that is almost unsettling, inlaid with coloured stone in flower patterns, and it changes colour through the day from pink to white to gold. It was built as a tomb rather than a palace, which people often forget. Twenty thousand worked on it over more than two decades. The gardens are laid out as a description of paradise, quartered by water. The pieces here come as prints, ornaments and more.
