Stockholm is built across islands, so water is always at the end of the street. Ochre and rust fronts packed along the old town waterfront, spires and copper roofs gone green, and ferries moving between the districts. The light is low and long for much of the year, which flatters the colour of the buildings. In winter the channels freeze at the edges and the whole place goes quiet. The pieces here take that waterfront and put it on a wall, on a tree, or under a cup.
