Hanoi is ochre plaster, tangled wiring and a lake in the middle of the old quarter with a small red bridge across it. Streets are named for the trade once done on them and often still are, tamarind and flame trees close over the roads, and the whole place moves on two wheels. The colour is mustard yellow going grey with damp, and green water. A train passes so close to the houses on one street that people move their chairs. The Hanoi pieces come as prints, ornaments and more.
