Santorini is white and blue and almost nothing else. Cubic houses stacked down a cliff, domes the colour of the sea below them, and a caldera that drops away so sharply the whole island reads as one long edge. The white is not decorative, it is lime wash keeping the heat out, and the blue on the shutters and domes goes with it for the same practical reason. It is the easiest place in the world to draw badly and one of the hardest to draw well, because the palette has already been chosen for you. The pieces here keep it simple and let the blue do the talking.
