Somewhere you have been

Sakai, Japan.

1 pieces

Sakai is an old port city with enormous keyhole shaped burial mounds from the fifth century sitting in the middle of the suburbs, so large that their shape is only legible from the air. Knives have been forged here for centuries and are still made with simple tools in small workshops, the tea ceremony was shaped by a merchant from the town, and the bay is industrial now where it was once the country's busiest harbour. The pieces here come as prints, ornaments and more.
