Somewhere you have been

Okinawa, Japan.

11 pieces

Okinawa is a chain of islands with water closer to the tropics than the rest of the country. A castle rebuilt in vermilion on a hill, shisa lions on every roof and gatepost, sugar cane and pine on the slopes, and reefs offshore. The culture is its own and so is the food. The colour is red lacquer, white sand and that water. People here live longer than almost anywhere and are studied for it. The pieces here come as prints, ornaments and more.
