Johannesburg grew on gold and shows it, with mine dumps on the skyline and a downtown of towers built in a rush. It is one of the largest urban forests in the world, millions of trees planted on what was open grassland, so from a hill it looks like a wood with buildings in it. Jacarandas turn whole suburbs purple in October. The gold reef under it produced a large share of all the gold ever mined. The pieces here come as prints, ornaments and more.
