Zanzibar is a stone town of carved doors and coral rag walls with the Indian Ocean on every side. Doors studded with brass and framed in deep relief, lanes too narrow for cars, spice farms inland, and dhows with triangular sails on water that goes from turquoise to green. The colour is white stone, dark wood and that water. Cloves grown on the island once made it one of the richest ports in the ocean. The pieces here come as prints, ornaments and more.
