Durban is a warm Indian Ocean city with a long beachfront promenade and surf running down it. Art deco blocks from the thirties, a market of spice in sacks, sugar cane in the hills inland, and a subtropical humidity that keeps everything green. The colour is beach gold, ocean blue and deep green. Bunny chow, a hollowed loaf filled with curry, was invented here. The rickshaws on the front carry enormous beaded headdresses. The pieces here come as prints, ornaments and more.
