Hiroshima is a river delta city, flat and green and rebuilt, with a dome left standing on purpose at the centre of it. Wide boulevards and trams, a castle reconstructed in black and white timber, and a garden laid out to be walked slowly. Across the water a torii gate stands in the sea and appears to float at high tide. Paper cranes are folded and sent here by children from all over the world. The pieces here treat it quietly, as prints, ornaments and the smaller things.
