The Czech lands are red roofs on green hills, spa towns in the west with colonnades and pastel fronts, castles on outcrops, and forests of spruce running to the borders. Beer is taken seriously and so is glass. The colour is terracotta, ochre and deep green with the occasional gold spire. Puppet theatre is a serious tradition rather than a children's novelty. Bohemian crystal is cut here and sold everywhere. Castles number in the thousands, more per head than anywhere else. The work here takes those roofs and spires and comes as prints, ornaments and the smaller things.
