Vienna is imperial and slightly formal about it. Pale stone facades, green copper roofs gone the colour of an old coin, coffee houses that have not changed in a century and do not intend to, and a ferris wheel that has been turning since before anyone alive remembers. The city was built to be looked at, which makes it straightforward to draw and easy to overdo. Gold and deep blue suit it, and so does the quieter line work when the subject is a single building rather than the whole skyline. It comes here as a print, an ornament and the rest.
