Amman is built across a series of hills in pale limestone, so the whole city is one colour and the buildings step up the slopes in blocks. A roman theatre cut into a hillside is still used, a citadel on the highest hill holds columns and an umayyad palace, and the desert begins not far beyond the edge. The hills are numbered as circles and people give directions by them rather than by street. The pieces here come as prints, ornaments and more.
