Alexandria is a long curve of corniche along the Mediterranean with a fort on the point where the lighthouse once stood. Faded colonial fronts with shuttered balconies, a library in a great tilted disc of stone, trams, and a sea that is a different blue from the rest of the country. The great library is gone but its replacement is a serious building. Greeks, Romans and Ottomans all left something in the street plan. The pieces here come as prints, ornaments and more.
