Rome is layered rather than planned. Imperial brick under a baroque front under a shop, fountains at the end of streets too narrow to see them coming, and umbrella pines standing over the whole thing. The colour is the giveaway: ochre, burnt orange and that particular dusty pink the buildings go in late light, with travertine bleaching almost white at noon. It is a warm city to draw and a hard one to draw quietly. The Rome pieces here run to that heat and come as prints, ornaments, coasters and the rest.
