The Colosseum is the arch upon arch of travertine that every drawing of Rome ends up using. Half the outer wall is gone, which is why the structure reads so clearly, and the stone goes from grey at midday to gold late in the day. Pines and ruins around it, and the hill of the forum next door. Its stone was quarried for other buildings for centuries, which is why half is missing. The pieces here come as prints, ornaments and more.
