Raleigh is a capital of oak shaded streets, which is where its nickname comes from, with a greek revival statehouse in granite at the centre. Pine woods and red clay around it, brick warehouses turned into other uses, a museum of natural sciences with a whale hanging in the atrium, and dogwood and azalea through the spring.
