Richmond is brick, river and trees. The James running over rocks right through the middle of the city, terraces and ironwork along the old streets, tobacco warehouses turned into something else, and dogwoods out in spring. The palette is red brick, deep green and river brown. Rapids run through the middle of the city, which almost nowhere else of its size can claim, and people swim in them in summer. It is a quiet subject and the work here treats it quietly, on a print, an ornament or a coaster.
