Penang, Malaysia.

8 pieces

Penang is an island of Chinese shophouses, colonial arcades and street art painted onto the walls between them. Clan jetties built out over the water on stilts, temples and mosques within a few streets of each other, a hill with a funicular, and food that people fly in for. The colour is faded pastel and green shutter. A funicular climbs to a hill station built to escape the heat. Assam laksa here is sour, fishy and better than it sounds. Nyonya cooking came out of the marriages between communities and exists nowhere else. The pieces here come as prints, ornaments and more.
