Macau is Portuguese pavement and Chinese temples with casinos behind them. A ruined church facade standing alone at the top of a flight of steps, pastel colonial buildings in yellow and green, black and white mosaic squares underfoot, and egg tarts on every corner. The colour is that pastel against dark tile. Portuguese was spoken here for longer than in almost any other colony. The southern half of the city runs on reclaimed land that did not exist a lifetime ago. African chicken is a dish you will find nowhere else. The pieces here come as prints, ornaments and more.
