Garmisch Partenkirchen is two towns joined at the foot of the highest peak in the country, with painted murals across the fronts of the houses. A gorge with a walkway cut into the rock, a cog railway up to a glacier, and alpine meadows that fill with flowers in the short summer. An olympic ski stadium sits at the edge of town and is still used. A church in the older half has a painted ceiling worth the detour. The pieces here come as prints, ornaments and winter things.
