Dubai is a skyline built on sand in a single lifetime. A tower that thins to a needle, a creek where wooden boats still load, souks of gold and spice, and desert starting immediately once the roads run out. The light is white and hard through the day and goes amber with dust at the end of it. Everything here is a generation old, which is the strangest part of it. The pieces here come as prints, ornaments and the smaller things.
