Colmar is timber framed houses leaning over narrow lanes with a quarter of canals called little Venice. Fronts painted mustard, rose and duck egg, window boxes loaded all summer, and a Christmas market that takes the whole town over. It sits in wine country on the Alsace plain. The colour is those painted frames. The sculptor of the statue of liberty was born here and the town has a copy. The pieces here come as prints, ornaments and December things.
