Poland is market squares of narrow gabled houses in every colour, brick gothic churches, and forests where bison still live. Amber on the Baltic coast, mountains in the south with wooden churches, cities rebuilt from paintings, and winters that are long enough to make the Christmas markets matter. The colour is that painted row against brick. Pierogi are filled a dozen different ways and argued about at every table.
