Nassau, Bahamas.

1 pieces

Nassau is pastel colonial buildings, a straw market and a harbour of ferries and cruise ships, with water that goes an improbable green over the sand flats. A staircase of sixty five steps cut into solid limestone with pick and chisel, forts on the hills, and a junkanoo parade at Christmas with costumes built over months. Pirates used the harbour for years and the town has not forgotten it. Wild pigs swim out to meet boats on a cay further down the chain, which began as a local oddity and is now the reason many people come. The pieces here come as prints, ornaments and more.
