Iquitos, Peru.
1 pieces
Iquitos is the largest city in the world with no road to it, reached only by river or air. Tiled fronts from the rubber boom, a floating quarter where the houses rise and fall with the water, motorbike rickshaws instead of cars, and the Amazon running past enormously wide. Jungle begins immediately at the edge of the streets. The colour is river brown, green and faded tile. An iron house designed in Paris was shipped here in pieces during the rubber boom. The pieces here come as prints, ornaments and more.
