Arches National Park

6 pieces

Arches is red sandstone bent into shapes that look unlikely until you stand under them. Fins, balanced rocks and spans of stone with sky through them, all in a deep rust orange, with the snow capped La Sals on the horizon behind. The rock goes almost scarlet in the last hour of light. There are more than two thousand of these openings in the park, most unvisited. The rock is standing because a salt bed beneath it buckled long ago. Stars here are as good as anywhere, and the park is kept dark for it. The pieces here come as prints, ornaments and more.
