Detroit has more good architecture than it gets credit for. Art deco towers in limestone and terracotta, a train station that stood empty for years and is now not, murals across whole walls, and a river with Canada on the far bank. It is a city being put back together in public. The colour is stone, rust and new green. A mural cycle in the art institute covers all four walls of a courtyard. The pieces here come as prints, ornaments and the rest.
