Charleston sits where two rivers meet in a valley with wooded hills close on both sides. A gold dome on the capitol beside the water, brick streets, and forest that turns hard red and gold in autumn right up to the edge of town. The colour is gold, river brown and hillside green. The dome is covered in real gold leaf and is redone every few decades. The capitol dome is taller than the one in Washington.
