Auckland is built on old volcanoes with harbours on both sides. Green cones rising out of the suburbs, sails everywhere on the water, a needle of a tower in the middle, and islands scattered off the coast within sight of the city. The light is clean and hard in the way southern light tends to be. Weather comes through in bands, so a single day will do all four seasons without apologising. The pieces here take the harbour and those cones and put them on a wall, a tree or under a cup.
